Mars Exploration Rover Mission: Image Contest

This color panorama shows the dark silhouette of a rugged cliff extending downward from left to right and beneath a flat horizon on the right. In the distance, the yellowish orb of the sun is beginning to sink beneath the hills that form the rim of Gusev Crater. All around the sun, glowing light streams upward and outward until it disappears into the purplish darkness of twilight.
